Wilton Police say 55-year-old Melinda Garry of Wilton came to the police department on Thursday, May 23 around 1:30 p.m. to give a statement regarding a previous accident she had been involved in.
Before speaking with Garry, police say they became aware that she had an active arrest warrant for a domestic incident that took place earlier in May.
Police say once Garry was in custody, they began to suspect that she was intoxicated and that she had driven to the station in an inebriated state.
Garry was tested while in custody and arrested for a separate DUI charge. She was processed for the DUI and the warrant and released on a $250 and $5,000 bond, respectively.
Garry was scheduled to appear in court for the DUI on Friday, May 24. She is also scheduled to appear on Monday, June 3 for the domestic-related charge of criminal trespassing.
